Renaissance Magazine Themes
Our goal
With Renaissance themed issues, we will aim to tackle topics of interest to our members. We will continue our tradition of profiling members, while taking bold and interesting steps to present bright ideas, insightful experiences, thoughtful reflections and points of view with plenty of colour, wit and style.
Our first themed issue in spring 2009, “Travel with a Purpose,” featured stories, writing and photos from members who have collectively trekked across the globe. Following the success of our first themed was the “Green Issue,” which delved into one of today's hottest topics from the perspective of our members, who we learned were on board with going green. As we continue we aim to tackle the themes most relevant to our members in a meaningful way.
In order to do this we work to include as much content by members as possible; the stories, artwork, photography and ideas from RTO/ERO members are phenomenal and we invite contributions to the magazine for each issue theme, listed below.
How to contribute
Send us a BRIEF query with your proposal outlining the experiences, opinions, artwork or photography you’d like to share. Only proposals from RTO/ERO full and associate members will be considered. Note that we cannot guarantee that writing and images will be published as received, nor can we publish all proposals we receive. We will endeavour to incorporate as many member viewpoints as we can. Send all proposals, and image and artwork samples to renaissance@rto-ero.org or call us at 1.800.361.9888

Fall 2012 – Ouch! Pain management
Most of us know someone who is living with or is personally dealing with a form of pain from time-to-time. We want to hear your stories of how you cope with pain and what types of activities or exercises you do to combat it. Or perhaps your way of managing it is through non-traditional medicine or new medical techniques.
What hurdles have you overcome and how has pain changed your outlook on life and your relationships with those close to you? Tell us how pain put you to the test.
Perspectives to consider: How has pain management changed your everyday activities? Is your pain conquerable or a constant challenge?

Winter 2012 – Community outreach
Are you passionate about serving your community? Does your passion stem from a personal experience or from a keen desire to give back? How has volunteering or fundraising changed your life? Were there unexpected twists you didn’t expect to encounter? We want to hear about what community outreach means to you. Share your stories of how community outreach touches your life.
Perspectives to consider: Were there unexpected rewards and hardships that you didn’t expect to encounter? What has community outreach taught you about your own life?
